On November 6th, the time had come, and MR Herblingen kicked off their 2022/2023 indoor championship.
The team's stated goal is very ambitious. Part of that goal is to give the newest players playing time so they can gain practical experience.
The first game against MR Beringen 2 did not go at all as hoped.
It was expected to be difficult, as the team had to get used to the large hall and the floor, which is significantly more cushioned. This is good for the joints, but of course, it also absorbs more of the ball's impact than usual. On top of that, several things simply didn't go right for the Herblingen team. The final score was 3-0 for Beringen (11:04 / 11:04 / 11:03).
In the second game of the day, the Herblingen team improved, but still lacked movement against TV Kaufleuten. Because the defense had to be reinforced by the center back, the forwards had to chase down many short balls. This also resulted in a 0-3 defeat for TV Kaufleuten (5:11 / 8:11 / 5:11). There
are still a few more training sessions before the next round, so hopefully, a few more wins will follow.
